Elefantes: El peso de la memoria
Mi padre coleccionaba elefantes de cada viaje que hacía; para mí, el elefante siempre fue su reflejo. Cuando murió, creé esta serie para inmortalizarlo, pero con el tiempo me di cuenta de que, en realidad, me estaba retratando a mí mismo.
El elefante es el mamífero más grande del planeta: familiar, fuerte y resistente. Al empezar a pintarlos, tuve claro que quería alejarme de lo convencional y jugar con el color y las líneas para crear algo totalmente nuevo. Así nació esta serie: un equilibrio entre la herencia de mi padre y mi propia búsqueda de un lenguaje visual único.
Elephants: The Weight of Memory
My father collected elephants from every journey he took; to me, the elephant was always his reflection. After he passed away, I created this series to immortalize him, but over time I realized that I was actually painting a self-portrait.
The elephant is the largest mammal on the planet: family-oriented, strong, and resilient. When I began this series, I knew I wanted to break away from tradition, playing with color and lines to create something entirely new. This is how this collection was born: a balance between my father’s legacy and my own search for a unique visual language.
