Se dice que la curiosidad mató al gato, pero a mí me dio un billete de primera clase. En estos dos años decidí que mi obra no había nacido para quedarse quieta y la saqué a ver mundo con una elegancia casi insolente. Fue un idilio sin frenos: del diseño impecable de Milán a los canales de Ámsterdam, saltando de la luz de Portugal al aire bohemio de París y la calidez de Gran Canaria.

Me divertí jugando a ser un intruso de lujo, llevando mis fotogramas desde la majestuosidad institucional del Senado de La Plata en Argentina hasta las salas del Museo de Guayaquil. Entendí que pintar es, en realidad, una excusa maravillosa para conquistar espacios imponentes y que no hay nada más refrescante que ver cómo un lienzo termina hablando idiomas que ni yo mismo sabía pronunciar. Fueron los años en los que aprendí que el mundo no es algo que se mira en un mapa, sino un escenario que se pisa con estilo y un poco de audacia.

They say curiosity killed the cat, but it gave me a first-class ticket. During these two years, I decided my work wasn’t born to sit still, so I took it out to see the world with an almost insolent elegance. It was a whirlwind affair: from the flawless design of Milan to the canals of Amsterdam, leaping from the light of Portugal to the bohemian air of Paris and the warmth of Gran Canaria.

I had the time of my life playing the high-end intruder, taking my frames from the institutional majesty of the Senate of La Plata in Argentina to the halls of the Guayaquil Museum. I realized that painting is, in fact, a marvelous excuse to conquer imposing spaces, and there’s nothing more refreshing than seeing a canvas end up speaking languages I didn’t even know how to pronounce. These were the years I learned that the world isn’t something you look at on a map, but a stage you walk upon with style and a bit of audacity.
